Congratulations again on making the Challenge Cup final in Newcastle upon Tyne. 

 

For those making the trip a new app has been launched to help tens of thousands of rugby fans heading to Newcastle for the European Rugby Finals. The Newcastle 2019 app has been specially designed to improve fan experience and will provide practical information about the city, fan activations and St James’ Park.

 

Taking place over the weekend of 10-11 May 2019, Newcastle is hosting European rugby’s biggest weekend, with the Challenge Cup Final on Friday night and Heineken Champions Cup Final on Saturday afternoon both being held at St James’ Park.

Fans will be able to use the app to get information and timetables on fan activations throughout the city. As well as the Champions Rugby Village on the Quayside and Baltic Square, fans can enjoy a local food and craft market at Blackett Street and a Spectator Plaza at Strawberry Place and St James’ Park metro car park.

During, and in the run up to, the finals weekend fans will also be able to find out more about Newcastle and the wider region, helping them to plan their visit and enjoy other sights and activities.

Ils devraient même le mettre en version italienne, roumaine, russe... Bref, toutes les nations (petites soient-elles) concernées par la coupe d'Europe devraient pouvoir accéder à la lecture du site et de l'application.

Félicitations encore pour avoir participé à la finale de la Challenge Cup à Newcastle upon Tyne.

 

Pour ceux qui font le voyage, une nouvelle application a été lancée pour aider des dizaines de milliers de fans de rugby se rendant à Newcastle pour les finales européennes de rugby. L'application Newcastle 2019 a été spécialement conçue pour améliorer l'expérience des fans et fournira des informations pratiques sur la ville, les activations des fans et St James’s Park.

 

Le week-end du 10 au 11 mai 2019, Newcastle accueillera le plus grand week-end de rugby européen. La finale de la Challenge Cup, vendredi soir, et la finale de la Heineken Champions Cup, samedi après-midi, se tiendront toutes deux à St James’s Park.

Les fans pourront utiliser l'application pour obtenir des informations et des horaires sur les activations des fans à travers la ville. En plus du Champions Rugby Village sur le Quayside et le Baltic Square, les fans pourront profiter d’un marché de produits alimentaires et d’artisanat local à Blackett Street et d’un Spectator Plaza à Strawberry Place et du parking souterrain de St James’s Park.

Pendant et à l'approche du week-end de finales, les fans pourront également en savoir plus sur Newcastle et la région en général, en les aidant à planifier leur visite et à profiter d'autres sites et activités.

Quand ils n'insistent pas que les arbitres dans les coupes europeenes et SURTOUT dans le Tournoi doivent parler AU MOINS des commandes en français et en italien je crois qu'il y a peu possibilité pour un app multilingue. C'est ridicule; ça sert deux ou trois matins de cours dans les deux langues pour etre capable de dire "ballon disponible" "palla disponibile" ecc. Mais l'amateurisme vive encore avec le rugby!

 

Pour tout que je n'aime pas Mister Barnes, au moins il fait l'effort avec le français.

This will seem a strange request from a supporter of a French rugby team (maybe less so when you know I'm Welsh) but I'm a big fan of The Likely Lads and Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads and to kill a few hours in Newcastle, I'd like to go and see locations where they filmed. I know they'll have largely changed since the two series were recorded but is there anything like the Dad's Army trail in Thetford? I've had a look online and have found lists of places where they filmed etc. but nothing to guide someone walking around looking for them.
