Jones is out of contract at the end of the season and there are thought to be a number of suitors seeking out the Wales and Ospreys star's signature.
The 25-year-old admits that there has been interest in his services from outside of the United Kingdom but that he has not ruled out remaining with Ospreys.
"There has been interest from France, as there has been with other players," Jones told Wales on Sunday.
"In fairness to the Ospreys, they approached me about a contract extension the week before the Magners League final last year, but that wasn't the best time to sit down and make decisions about the future.
"I put it off and I have been busy with the Ospreys captaincy and with Wales since then. I am in talks with the Ospreys but there has been interest from France."
Ospreys and Clermont are currently experiencing vastly different fortunes in the transfer arena. The Welsh region suffering an exodus of sorts with key men Lee Byrne and James Hook already confirming their departures from Liberty Stadium, with Welsh scrum-half Mike Phillips largely expected to be joining them.
Conversely, Clermont have already added Scarlets' Regan King and Toulouse fly-half David Skrela to their ranks for next season.
