Forcément déçu car à +9 j'y croyais vraiment.
Et puis tout s'est enchaîné négativement. Une pénalité généreuse donnée à Wilko (3 pénalités dans nos 22 presque face aux perches quand même!), un essai en contre suite à un ballon non rendu à l'ASM, et enfin 1/4 d'heure passé dans les 30 mètres du RCT sans même une pénalité mais avec un Rollan répétant sans cesse "retirez-vous rouge".
Alors oui on devait gagner même dans ce contexte. Mais vraiment l'arbitrage n'a pas été bon. Au moins nous n'entendrons pas les gémissements des MB et BL.
Ce soir je suis également triste pour notre sport. Avoir un champion d'Europe au jeu aussi pauvre me désole. Alors même le morale dans les chaussettes je me dis que nous sommes tombés en proposant du jeu. Et cela me réconforte un peu...

Toulon produced the sum total of zero. Clermont tried to play. The ref didn't intervene in any way so we can say his influence was nil.

It was extreme negativity from Toulon, silly mistakes from ASM & a ref who let both sides away with blue murder at the breakdown.
How the whistle stayed so silent during such intense phases is unbelievable.
Felons try came off the back of a Toulon knockon that Rolland gave adv ASM, either Rougerie didn't take the op or the ref didn't hear him (I opt for the latter) it remains that RCT got a try when half of the jaunards were waiting for the ref to call the game back for a scrum.
I am not blaming Rolland. I am not blaming Toulon. I am not Blaming Clermont.
But if the powers that be believe that a game like we saw tonight & the manner the winners played their rugby is the way forward...........well then rugby is sliding down the slope that leads to soccer & all the ills that go with it.
Toulon have the trophy, but everybody who knows anything about the game knows their win has cheapened & devalued the whole competition.
It is a very sad day when chequebooks win trophies.
Of course Clermont are not "poor" either, but at least they respect the game.
Toulon don't.. Neither the professionnel team or the lowest rugby club in the county (83). They represesnt everything that is bad about the game.
It is a very very sad day for anyone who loves the game of rugby, no matter what level.
